The SC3 is a resin-insulated current transformer which has been designed to open into two halves. The benefit of this is that it can be placed into position easily without the disconnection the cables it is monotoring.
Before fitting any current transformers the circuit must be totally isolated. Under no circumstances should you try and install current transformers to a live circuit.
